May 2017 Income Report and Plans

May-Income-Report-OnlineMoneyzThis is my 27th income report for this blog.

Every month I publish a post like this showing:

  • how much money I made
  • what I worked on
  • and what my plans are for the future.

These reports will help me keep myself accountable, and hopefully I can help you figure out how you can make money online.

What I Did in May

I spent the beginning of May working lightly and trying to rest, but then I read two amazing books that completely changed my mindset. (More on this later.)

Online I:

  • Published 33k words on WHQ. The goal here is to increase the amount of informational content on the site and get over the Fred issues I’ve been having.
    • I also added some backlinks, and my VA found 50+ websites for guest posts. WHQ has enough content by now, and I need high quality links to get the site to earning $$$$ every month. It is in a very high competition niche though, so that’ll take more time.
  • Published two posts on my blog with a couple more saved as drafts. It’s crazy how much you can do when you’re not a full time student!
  • Published my third income report roundup!
  • Started selling my website on EmpireFlippers. I’ll write a blog post about the entire process later, but they’ve been great so far and I’m positive my site will sell in June.
  • Added 5k to EGE. This is the site in the low-competition niche post. I plan on growing this site out once I sell BAB, but I put it on pause for now because I might have to include this site in the sale and there’s no point in growing it right now if I have to sell it off before it makes any money.

Offline I:

  • Read two amazing books that shifted my mindset. Both are by the same author and have some overlap, but one is from 2011 and one was just published.
    • The Millionare Fastlane – I read this book a year ago, but it didn’t have an impact on me. I re-read it at the beginning of May and understood everything in it. I could finally relate to what MJ (the author) was talking about.
    • Unscripted – Got this book on launch day and finished it on the same day. This book is much longer than the first one, but it covers much more info also. It’s harsh, it will make you rethink your life choices up to this point, but if you think about his message you’ll understand the power in this book.
  • Read through 3 copywriting books, took notes, and thought about the information in the book. I will be re-reading these in June or July to truly get the info into my head.

April 2017 Income Report and Plans

April-OnlineMoneyz-Income-ReportThis is my 26th income report for this blog.

  • how much money I made
  • what I worked on
  • and what my plans are for the future.

These reports will help me keep myself accountable, and hopefully I can help you figure out how you can make money online.

What I Did in April

After a busy March on the online front, April was pretty relaxed.

This relaxation was because of my college exams so in reality I wasn’t relaxed at all.

However even with all the studying I still managed to accomplish some online stuff!

Online I:

  • Started the process of selling my highest income Amazon affiliate site.
  • Published my second income report roundup!
  • Added 16k words to WHQ with the hopes of getting past my Fred troubles.
  • Tried out Doug’s KGR technique. Some of the content is already ranking although it’s not in the top 30 yet.

Offline I:

  • Studied hard, took 3 final exams, and moved back to Louisiana for the summer.

March 2017 Income Report and Plans

March-Income-ReportThis is my 25th income report for this blog.

Every month I publish a post like this showing:

  • how much money I made
  • what I worked on
  • and what my plans are for the future.

These reports will help me keep myself accountable, and hopefully I can help you figure out how you can make money online.

What I Did in March

The problems from February spilled over into March as I tried to put out fires everywhere and figure out how not to lose all of my income.

I spent more money than usual in an attempt to rank some of my other websites which doesn’t reflect in my income report just yet. (Hopefully it will be noticeable soon.)

Online I:

  • Added 15,000 words of content to WHQ with the hopes of getting my rankings back after Fred.
  • Published my first ever income report roundup! I loved reading through everyone’s progress in the past month and I think this is something I will do every month no matter how popular it is.
  • Researched and discovered potential very low competition keywords to add to WHQ and help it rank.

Offline I:

  • Enjoyed a couple warm weather days, but worked for the rest of the time.

Goals:

I didn’t have a goals section last month, but I did accomplish most of what I planned on doing.

I kept my great writer, published less posts than I would’ve liked on WHQ (15k instead of 25k), and did some basic SEO on WHQ.

February 2017 Income Report and Plans

February-Income-ReportThis is my 24th income report for this blog.

Every month I publish a post like this showing:

  • how much money I made
  • what I worked on
  • and what my plans are for the future.

These reports will help me keep myself accountable, and hopefully I can help you figure out how you can make money online.

What I Did in February/Beginning of March

February was surprisingly productive, but also full of surprised and disappointment.

There’s a reason for why I’m writing this post in March. I’ve had to put out fires and focus on my businesses so I had no time for this.

Online I:

  • Continued teaching my VA keyword research and showed her how to create Web 2.0 backlinks.
  • Got hit by the mysterious Fred update and the Amazon affiliate commission changes nearly at the same time.
  • Completely restructured WHQ and “silo”d the content with the hopes that it’ll help with getting back my rankings.
  • Tested 6 writers on Upwork and kept one of them. So far he’s written 10,000 words of informational content and I plan on adding at least 25k words per month to WHQ for the next 3 months. I think this should help me with the Fred issues, but more on that later.

Offline I:

  • Focused on working on college courses and online work. Didn’t rest that much.

Goals:

I planned on being productive in January, and while I didn’t do everything I wanted to, I also accomplished other things I didn’t even think about so it all evens out in the end. 😉

  • Publish two posts on OnlineMoneyz: FAILEDI didn’t do either of these. 🙁
    • “A year in review” post covering how much money I made and spent during the year, how I could’ve made more money and how much my income grew.
    • Post 1 of my secret project that I won’t be telling you about until it’s up.
  • Show my VA how to use Upwork and possibly hire a couple writers for my new project. SORTA FAILED– I showed her how to create Web 2.0s and hired writers by myself so it’s not that much of an issue.
  • Edit and publish 3 drafts on WHQSUCCEEDED– Published and edited a total of 10 posts.

January 2017 Income Report and Plans

January-Income-ReportThis is my 23rd income report for this blog.

Every month I publish a post like this showing:

  • how much money I made
  • what I worked on
  • and what my plans are for the future.

These reports will help me keep myself accountable, and hopefully I can help you figure out how you can make money online.

What I Did in January

Most of January was quite unproductive as I burnt myself out last semester and needed to take a breather.

However, I got back into it near the end of the month and actually got some stuff done that I had on my to-do list for a while.

Online I:

  • Taught my VA the basics of keyword research and SEO. Eventually I hope to get her to a point where she can do keyword research for me and possibly oversee other writers under her.
  • Updated the Content Samurai review post.

Offline I:

  • Spend a lot of time playing video games, watching Netflix, and resting.
  • Continued doing college stuff.
  • Had my first float tank experience- It was awesome! It’s like meditation, but better.

Goals:

I planned on being productive in January, and while I didn’t do everything I wanted to, I also accomplished other things I didn’t even think about so it all evens out in the end. 😉

  • Publish two posts on OnlineMoneyz: FAILEDNo posts as always. What else did you expect? 🙁
    • “A year in review” post covering how much money I made and spent during the year, how I could’ve made more money, how I grew, and all other interesting stuff like that. 😉
    • Post 1 of my secret project that I won’t be telling you about until it’s up. 😉
  • Start teaching my VA Pinterest magic to drive traffic to WHQ. FAILED– I didn’t teach her Pinterest, and instead started teaching her keyword research.
  • Create 4 quick and easy silos on WHQ myself. I could assign this to my VA, but I can do it quicker and I need her to expand to working on other stuff. FAILEDI only created one silo as I underestimated the amount of time it would take me to make a “top x” post as it seems I’m out of practice.

December 2016 Income Report and Plans

December-Income-Report-OnlineMoneyzThis is my 22nd income report for this blog.

Every month I publish a post like this showing:

  • how much money I made
  • what I worked on
  • and what my plans are for the future.

These reports will help me keep myself accountable, and hopefully I can help you figure out how you can make money online.

I decided to do a separate report for December and for the year of 2016, so if you’re interested in how my entire year went and how much money I made, come back here soon! (I’ll put a link in the intro once I finish the post.)

What I Did in December

December was a soul-searching and foundation building month.

I thought about my ultimate goals, dreams, and visions and tried to figure out what I should do next in internet marketing and in life.

Online I:

  • Looked at various keyword and SEO services to see if I could streamline my Amazon affiliate site process. I’m good on the content at the moment as my VA has that covered, but I need to work on SEO.
  • Read up on using Pinterest to drive traffic to my websites. The next step is creating a plan and outsourcing this to my VA. This is obviously not as good as me figuring it out first and then showing her how to do everything, but I’m limited on time.
  • Did some test videos using Content Samurai.

Offline I:

  • Survived my first final exams in college and completed the semester!
  • Wrote in a journal and tried to figure out what I want to do later in life and what I should be doing in 2017. This is a process that I should be going through constantly as goals change and it’s important to be aligned with your goals/vision.

Goals:

I wanted to spend some time de-stressing and relaxing so I could attack 2017 with renewed strength, but this didn’t work out as well as I thought it would.

I did rest, but I found it hard to “turn myself off” so to speak and not think about what I have to do internet marketing and business wise.

I’m trying out a float tank later in January and I might also start meditating again as that was very helpful.

  • REST Succeeded (sorta)I spent time reading, sleeping, and playing video games, but not as much as I would’ve liked to.
  • Look over, edit, and publish the 25 drafts I currently have on WHQ. SucceededIt feels so good to be done with this. Now there’s 64 published posts on the site. Not at 100 yet, but still a lot of content considering that most of these posts are 1,000+ words.
  • Create a Pinterest account for WHQ and teach my VA how to create content for it and what/how/when to post it. FailedI researched it, but haven’t taken any action.
  • Publish at least 2 posts on OnlineMoneyz. Failed0 posts as always. I have a new “journey” that I’ll be starting in January though so that’ll add at least 1 extra post per month.
